Two more boats and a first race!

Two more beautiful boats launched today! Tom Pelsue with Toasty Pride, and Mike Barnum with Budget Cuts! Built side-by-side in Tom’s workshop, these boats look fast!

A blessing and toast was made for the newest ships with friends and family there to celebrate.

We are very thankful to have in the fleet a pro race official and safety boat captain Bob Minelli. Here you can see he and Ray Mount getting the safety boat ready to go.

Ray Mount loaned out Slop so he could support the fleet on Safety Boat during most of the races.

The fleet had a chance to practice a bit while Lil fumbled around at the dock undergoing a rudder repair. Special thanks to Justin Normand for his creative fix!

Finally we’re all on the water and ready to race! Avoiding the ice-flow made it especially entertaining. It was an absolutely beautiful day.

We were able to run three races, with one race having to be canceled due to an abandoned fishing line “clotheslining” the fleet at the first mark — Luckily Ray Mount was there on safety boat to cut the line so we could have our final race.

All-in-all, the fleet was very satisfied with the performance of their boats, and looking forward to the next race. Winner of the day was Mike Barnum — congrats Mike!

Looking forward to seeing everyone at our next race planned for Saturday February 21st11:00AM start with a high-tide at 1:47PM. The Safety Boat is ready to go! 😉
