Winter Series 2026 — That’s a wrap!

We have concluded our first experimental Winter series! What a blast! Next winter we look forward to having a complete series and hopefully a few more boats!

The last major event for the fleet was the “2026 Dirty Water Cup” (12th annual) where we had the chance to race from the MIT Sailing Pavilion. Weather and competition was great!

Jim and I participated in one day of the 2026 Cape Cod Frosty Intergalactic. My “booby prize” explains itself regarding our performance.

And that’s what it’s all about — showing up! (And yes, if you didn’t beat anyone, at least you can beat some eggs 🤣)

Stay tuned to learn more about events this summer and our schedule for the 2026/2027 winter season!

April 12th – 8 Boats!

Today we had some friends from Frosty fleet 9 join us for a perfect race day on the water! The wind was ever shifting which our race committee used to give us a 5 different races.

We like to start with a skippers meeting to go over safety details, weather, and race course plans.

The first video today is of a finish t0 see all 8 boats racing. (And yes, FF16 has noted the difference in sail angle! Take note!)

It was great having some fans on the dock!

A start…

And view from the deck!

Next time we all race together will likely be the Dirty Water Cup at MIT Sunday April 26!! (Link)

Results from today:

Race No. 3 – Sunny and Spicy

Another great race in the books! It was a beautiful sunny day with a some manageable gusts helping the fleet really move! One capsize allowing us to test out the rescue boat — all good!

Recommended modification to help with future rescues: a carabiner connecting the outhaul to clew would allow us to easily let the sail free in order to tow the boat.

Jim kicked some butt on Slop! Is it the boat? The racer? We need more races to know for sure!
